3rd Annual Prayer Breakfast on May 4 to focus on human trafficking


LACONIA — The 3rd Annual Lakes Region Prayer Breakfast will be held Thursday, May 4, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at St. Andre Bessette Parish Hall- 31 Gilford Ave., Laconia. However, it was not until April, 1952, that President Harry S. Truman signed a bill proclaiming the first Thursday in May as the National Day of Prayer. This year's theme – Human Trafficking – was suggested by attendees at last year's event. She is also a founder and lead coordinator of the MA Coalition to End Human Trafficking and was a founding board member of Amirah, a safe home for survivors of human trafficking on the north shore of Massachusetts. Photo: Lakes Region Prayer Breakfast featured speaker Sarah Dunham the founder and director of the Abolitionist Network, a program of the Emmanuel Gospel Center in Boston, with the mission to connect and empower the Body of Christ to abolish the systems of human trafficking.
