The grenades were unearthed when labourers were cutting mud on the edge of the fish enclosure at Paikgachha village around 10:15pm on Sunday, said Paikgacha police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Emdadul Sheikh. Upon being informed of the matter, police and a bomb disposal unit rushed to the location and recovered the grenade. It is believed that the grenades may have been planted in the area during the Liberation War of 1971, the OC added.
