Two young men faced an angry mob who almost beat them to death along Makutano Kyumbi- Machakos road on Saturday morning. The two are said to have been attempting to steal a handbag from a woman in a matatu traveling to Machakos. The OCPD said that the two men were armed with a knife and threatened the woman to peacefully give them her handbag upon which she raised alarm. Passengers pushed out the suspects from the matatu which was parked on the roadside, where they beat and stoned the suspects badly. Nyange advised the people against carrying a lot of liquid cash money, asking them to use banking, Mpesa services or credit cards instead.
