KUCHING: More than 400 people comprising local and foreign tourists attended a double-celebration held at the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre (SWC) here today. Apart from the Malaysia Day celebration, the centre also threw a birthday bash for a one-year-old male baby orang utan on the same day. Born on Sept 16 last year, Mas, named after the three letter abbreviation code for Malaysia, is the youngest orang utan at the centre. The highlight of the day included the cake cutting ceremony by orang utan adopters. “I had also adopted two other orang utans from a wildlife centre in Kalimantan few years ago.” she said.
