2 Vietnamese rescued from kidnappers

MANILA, Philippines — Two Vietnamese were rescued by police from their alleged Chinese kidnappers in Las Piñas City on Tuesday. Authorities said they rescued Pha Ti Khim Yin and Nguyen Thi Than Mai in a house at Golden Gate Subdivision in Barangay Talon 3. According to a police report, suspects Li Mu Qin and Zhao Chao allegedly demanded P1 million from the victims’ relatives in exchange for their release. The victims’ cousin, Nguyen Anh Hong Trang, reported the kidnapping to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, which launched an operation. The victims were able to send their location to their relatives through Google, which was used by police to trace them.
