11th parliamentary polls: BNP voices objections to Awami League’s unilateral campaign


BNP has sent a letter to the Election Commission (EC) registering its objection to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s “unilateral” electoral campaign in favour of her party at both home and abroad expending public money. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir sent the letter to Chief Election Commission (CEC) KM Nurul Huda on Sunday, reports UNB. Therefore, we have apprised the Election Commission of the matter,” added Rizvi, a member of the party’s highest policymaking body National Standing Committee. Earlier on Monday, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, another member of the committee, too slated the ruling Awami League for launching their electoral campaign way before the announcement of the polls schedule, adds our correspondent Kamrul Hassan. “The prime minister is conducting campaigns for her party with money from the state exchequer, while our chairperson [Khaleda Zia] has been in jail.
