Rafiqul is Joint Secretary General of Aamgaon Union BNP and a member of the Aamgaon Union Parisad under Haripur Upazila in Thakurgaon district. When contacted, MP from Thakurgaon-2 constituency Dabirul confirmed the testimonial. The letter has been appended to the bail petition of Rafiqul filed with the Thakurgaon District and Session Judge's court on Feb 22. The court has ordered a check on the veracity of the testimonial after Public Prosecutor Shekhar Kumar Roy objected the bail petition. Speaking to bdnews24.com, MP Dabirul said, "If police charge him (Rafiqul under SPA 174) then there is nothing to do.
