Politics of Wednesday, 31 August 2016Source: adomonline.com‘Only myopic thinkers doubt one village, one dam policy’ - AgyapongMember of Parliament for Assin Central, Mr. Kennedy AgyapongThe Member of Parliament for Assin Central has hit hard at critics questioning the feasibility of the one-village, one-dam policy in Northern Ghana by leader of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo. In his view, those doubting the viability especially ministers in the Mahama-led government of the policy are “myopic thinkers” not fit to be in government. The policy announced by the NPP leader whilst addressing the Bolgatanga Traditional Council in the Upper East Region has been scrutinised questioning the practicality of the policy. Critics who doubt its feasibility said it is simply too expensive and impracticable to build a dam in every village. “We don’t need these myopic thinkers in the country but I’m not surprised, if you have ministers who are bereft of ideas, this is what happens” he stressed.
