President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday announced he is going to fire an undersecretary due to corruption allegations. “When I go back (to Manila), I will fire another undersecretary for corruption,” Duterte said in his speech in an event in Davao City. Duterte has vowed to eradicate corruption in his administration, but some critics questioned this pronouncement after some of the dismissed officials were given new posts. Last August, Duterte revealed he considered resigning after he became exasperated by rampant corruption in the government.
