A national guitar competition for amateur and professional guitar players was officially launched on Oct. 18. Dubbed Himig ng Panahon, Guitar Competition, the nationwide search is open to all guitar players aged 13 to 35 and currently not under professional management contract or not signed to any music labels. Himig ng Panahon panel of judges includes composer Ric Mercado, six-string master Noel Manalo Mendez, and classical guitar professor Lester Demetillo. The finals will be staged on Nov.18 in one of the performance venues of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. Las Casas Filipinos de Acuzar is a project of New San Jose Builders, Inc., in consultancy with Asian Grand Legacy.
