KUALA LUMPUR: 100 per cent of the 25 ministries achieved Excellent ratings for their financial management last year, according to the 2016 Auditor-General’s Report. In 2016, the Audit Department audited 25 ministries and 18 federal departments which were audited annually and 38 federal statutory bodies which were audited by three-year cycles. All 25 ministries achieved Excellent ratings compared to 16 (64 per cent) and 20 (83.3 per cent) in 2015 and 2014 respectively. Financial management performances in 18 federal departments also improved where 16 (88.9 per cent) achieved Excellent ratings while the other two achieved Good ratings. As for the federal statutory bodies, 16 (42.1 per cent) of them achieved Excellent ratings, 19 (50 per cent) achieved Good ratings and three (7.9 per cent) achieved Satisfactory ratings.
