Leading generative AI startup Anthropic has declared that it will not use its clients’ data to train its Large Language Model (LLM), and that it will step in to defend users facing copyright claims. Anthropic, founded by former researchers from OpenAI, updated its commercial Terms of Service to spell out its ideals and intentions. By carving out the private data of its own customers, Anthropic is solidly differentiating itself from rivals like OpenAI, Amazon and Meta, which do leverage user content to improve their systems. Users’ Data: LLMs' Vital FoodLarge Language Models (LLMs) like GPT-4, LlaMa or Anthropic's Claude are advanced AI systems that understand and generate human language by being trained on extensive text data. And this is why users’ data is so valuable in training LLMs.

Thanks to updated regulations from the Federal Aviation Administration, companies like Zipline, Amazon and Walmart are expanding their drone delivery services. Even Chick-fil-A is testing drone delivery at select locations nationwide. Walmart has drone delivery in 37 stores across six states, while Zipline serves more than 4,000 health centers and more than 45 million people worldwide. It’s important to note that autonomous delivery drones must have a licensed drone operator overseeing the delivery. The skies may appear crowded from the ground with delivery drones joining airplanes and helicopters, but experts say there’s no reason to worry about more collisions.

One inglorious climate record follows another; 2023 was by far the warmest year since measurements began. The consequences can be felt as extreme weather events all over the world. Meanwhile, global greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise, while effective international climate policy measures are still lacking.

Source: phys.orgA team of researchers has developed an innovative method to design complicated all-α proteins, characterized by their non-uniformly arranged α-helices as seen in hemoglobin. Employing their novel approach, the team successfully created five unique all-α protein structures, each distinguished by their complicated arrangements of α-helices. This capability holds immense potential in designing functional proteins.

“We are concerned that nitrogen hypoxia would result in a painful and humiliating death,” said the experts, who are all independent monitors working as part of the Human Rights Council’s special procedures program. The practice of using nitrogen hypoxia to execute a prisoner—essentially having them inhale pure nitrogen, starving them of oxygen until they die—was authorized as an alternative method by the Alabama State Legislature in 2018. Last year, the Alabama Supreme Court upheld its use in a 6-2 decision over Smith’s case. Read more at The Daily Beast. Source: www.thedailybeast.com
