Jessica Poland, who sells art in Hobart and online under the name Jessica James, sells dot paintings which resemble traditional Aboriginal artworks. Ms Poland at first responded to the criticism on her Jessica James Instagram, apologising for causing offence but vowing to continue. Ms Poland with one of her many Aboriginal-style dot paintings, which appear on her Instagram and artist website'I am not telling stories that are not mine to tell. Daily Mail Australia approached Ms Poland, the Indigenous Art Code and the Arts Law Centre of Australia for comment.

As many as 72 people have died in South Africa, following days of protest over the jailing of former President Jacob Zuma. The South African Police Service (SAPS) which gave the figure of casualties late Tuesday also 1,234 people have been arrested. Crowds clashed with police and ransacked or set ablaze shopping malls in cities across South Africa on Tuesday, as anger over Zuma jailing boiled over. Zuma’s foundation said there would be no peace in South Africa until the former president was released from jail. “Peace and stability in South Africa is directly linked to the release of President Zuma with immediate effect,” it said in a Tweet.

Apple has quietly released its official MagSafe battery pack for $99. The MagSafe Battery Pack is now available from Apple’s website. The new item’s support page explains that the MagSafe Battery Pack can be recharged with up to 20W of power. The Battery Pack can recharge the iPhone 12 at up to 15W but only when the Battery Pack is connected to a 20W or higher adapter. Sri Lanka ramped up the COVID-19 inoculation drive on Tuesday (July 13), recording the highest number of vaccinations rolled out in a single day. Accordingly, 337,445 coronavirus jabs in total have been rolled out, State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Prof. Channa Jayasumana said. But yesterday the suggestion of putting an end to the exercise came from the organisation that runs it, the Office for National Statistics. Pete Benton, population chief of the ONS, said: ‘Traditionally census data reduces in value over the longer term as our circumstances change. This will include the role of any future census and, for example, necessary improvements in data collection or acquisition, methods and infrastructure.’

There were loads of reports of all forms of child abuse over the media throughout the last few days. Maybe, tons of people are striking their breasts in contrition, grinding their teeth and cursing the perpetrators of all forms of this menace reported. For each child abused, there are hundreds and perhaps even thousands of them, suffering backstage in this world. Yet for all that, there are all those hordes of faceless ones on whom we need to beam our focus. However, when words fail, lyrics of a song, ever so graphically portrayed and sung with such real feeling may capture, perhaps even better than spoken or written words, the implications and the suffering of these unfortunate children.
