'We are examining long Covid in children and we are seeing long Covid symptoms, mostly fatigue and headache,' Walensky said. Despite, all of his research into the condition, he still said the main theme of long Covid is uncertainty. If you tab through the PS5’s menu, you’ll come across a selection of web browser settings—including options to clear cookies, change Javascript preferences , and more. As many as 2,382 persons have tested positive for coronavirus so far today (August 13), the Ministry of Health confirmed. All new cases are associated with the New Year COVID-19 cluster. The new development brings the total number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country thus far to 347,500. At present, more than 37,000 virus-infected patients are being treated at hospitals and treatment centres across the island. The tally of total recoveries reached 304,628 today as 2,173 more patients were discharged after returning to health.

COLOMBO (News 1st); A vaccination program for Kidney patients who are yet to obtain the vaccine against COVID-19 will take place at the National Institute for Nephrology Dialysis & Transplantation. According to the Ministry of Health, the first dose of the vaccine will be administered at the National Institute for Nephrology Dialysis & Transplantation in Maligawatte for patients receiving treatment at the premises and patients who had undergone a kidney transplant and a dialysis process. The Vaccination Program will take place on the 14th and 21st of August from 08 AM to 10 AM at the National Institute for Nephrology Dialysis & Transplantation in Maligawatte and only patients will be allowed to obtain the vaccine during that time period.

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Navy will continue to open the COVID-19 vaccination center at the Lighthouse premises on Chaithya Road on the 14th and 15th of August to administer the Sinopharm Vaccine. Sri Lanka Navy, pledging its continued support for the vaccination of the general public with a view to curbing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, administered the Sinopharm vaccine to people at the Lighthouse premises on Chaithya Road Colombo on Friday (13th August 2021). Accordingly, over 24,150 people above 30 years of age have been vaccinated with the first and second doses of Sinopharm, through the COVID-19 inoculation drive rolled out by the Navy in the previous 05 days. The inoculation proceedings are conducted adhering to the COVID-19 protocols in force due to pandemic concerns. Meanwhile, the Navy will continue to open the COVID-19 vaccination center at the Lighthouse premises on Chaithya Road on 14th and 15th August as well.

COLOMBO (News 1st); The newly-appointed New Zealand’s first resident High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Michael Appleton paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), General Shavendra Silva on Friday (13). Discussions that ensued largely focused on sound bilateral relations that prevail between both countries, military organizations and possibilities for further improvement with varying training modules for tri servicemen in Sri Lanka. General Silva gratefully acknowledged the understanding and the cooperation, being extended by New Zealand counterparts to the Army throughout last couples of years and expressed his desire to further promote such ties in future. Towards the end of the interaction, General Shavendra Silva awarded a memento to the New Zealand’s envoy to Sri Lanka, Michael Appleton.
