As You Sow has withdrawn its resolution in return for Microsoft conducting the study and making parts and documentation more available to repair shops that aren’t official Microsoft service providers based on the study’s results. The fact that the company is at least willing to do that is encouraging and is more than other tech giants have done when it comes to right to repair. If that kind of behavior continues, it would be hard to give Microsoft props for any positive work it does for right to repair. Despite the caveats, right to repair supporters see this agreement as a good thing. PRIG’s right to repair campaign manager also told The Verge that it was “the real deal” and cited it as evidence as Microsoft “changing its tune” about right to repair.

Victoria Covid-19: Melbourne 1,838 new cases and five deaths
The new cases raise the total number of active infections to a staggering 15,000. Arlington school shooter is released on bond
The teenage gunman who opened fire in an Arlington, Texas, school on Wednesday has been released on bond, a day after pulling a gun from his backpack and shooting a 'bully', a teacher and one other girl. This video, taken moments before the shooting, shows Timothy Simpkins, the shooter, being beaten up in his classroom by a 15-year-old student. Exporters slam interest rate suspension for earnings

SL economy to grow by 3.3% in 2021: World Bank

HSBC Research predicts SL GDP to grow 3.5%
As per a report published on Sri Lanka by HSBC Global Research, the expected GDP growth of Sri Lanka in 2021 will be 3.5% due to the effect of recurring waves of Covid-19. According to HSBC Global Research, Sri Lanka’s external profile is particularly concerning. Regardless of this development, Sri Lanka still owes over $ 4 billion in foreign debt per year over the next five years.
