Eidul-Azha festivities continue across country
On the second day of Eidul-Azha today (Monday), the faithful will continue to sacrifice animals in commemoration of the supreme sacrifice offered by Hazrat Ibrahim AS and Hazrat Ismael (AS). The meat of sacrificial animals is being distributed among destitute and needy people besides relatives. The children are also enjoying festivities on the occasion of Eidul-Azha. Civic authorities have chalked out comprehensive arrangements to collect offals and remaining animals as well as the cleanliness of roads and streets.

Pakistan Test cricket team, officials celebrate Eidul Adha
The Pakistan Test cricket team celebrated the festival of Eidul Adha with religious fervour after offering Eid prayers at the hotel in Colombo on Sunday. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a video of the team members and other officials wishing Eid Mubarak and hugging each other. “The players offer Eid-ul-Adha prayers at the team hotel,” it added. Fans and supporters wished the players Eid in the comments section. The Pakistani team is touring Sri Lanka for a two-match Test series, which is part of the World Test Championship.

On Jonsson: Samuel Jonsson is a large goaltender who played all season in Sweden’s J20 league with Brynas and had inconsistent performance. On Yevseyev: Yevseyev skates and competes well enough and can outlet pucks fine but the offensive upside in his game is a question. They have some interesting pieces with their late-round picks including 6-foot-5 goalie Samuel Jonsson, who fits an organizational need. Armed with only one pick of real consequence, it’s hard to trash the Oilers’ draft too hard.

Question lingers over PTI MNAs’ resignations
PTI chief Imran Khan along with other party leader during 'Azadi March' in Islamabad on May 25, 2022. He had given a ruling that the resignations would only be accepted after the PTI MNAs appear in person before him and verified if they were “genuine and voluntary”. The PTI MNAs had announced en masse resignations moments before Shehbaz Sharif was elected as the new prime minister on April 11 -- a day after PTI chairman and former premier Imran Khan was voted out from the coveted slot through a no-confidence motion. After his ouster from the slot, he had asked his party’s MNAs to tender their resignations and refused to accept newly elected PM Shehbaz. Since then the majority of PTI MNAs have not attended the assembly sessions while those who did not resign are sitting on the opposition benches along with a few others.
