According to a study, between the end of WW2 and 2000, the USA has overtly or covertly influenced 81 elections in outside countries. Entering the 21st century, with the arrogance of being the only superpower, the US has been ever more lethal and totalitarian in its avarice for power and control. There are few among many who keep reverting to history and keep record, but ironically, the vote belongs to the many. And ‘engineered’, because sadly our own mainstream media is constantly bombarding upon us a narrow, materialistic and self-centred way of thinking. The Orange-White spring game is on Saturday, kicking off at 6 p.m. Central on the Longhorn Network. Let’s kick off this roundtable with are you team orange or team white? Give me team white. Daniel - You typically keep a pretty vanilla game plan for the spring game, so that you don’t tip your hand to opponents down the road. The most important thing is to get everyone some snaps to put on film and come out of the game healthy.

After weeks of relentless attacks, Russia claims it has secured a major win in Ukraine by capturing the port city of Mariupol. Mariupol covers just a tiny area on the map, belying its immense significance for both Ukraine and Russia. With Mariupol under its control, there is nothing to stop Russia from establishing a land corridor linking Crimea and Donbas. Russia can also now redeploy its troops from Mariupol to other areas where Ukrainian resistance still needs to be quelled. Earth Day, celebrated globally on April 22, is an opportunity to take stock of our commitments to protect our planet from the impacts of climate change and to re-align our priorities for sustainable climate action. For Pakistan, like other global and regional players, the ‘do-more and do-better’ approach towards climate change is the need of the time. It is alarming to see Pakistan in the list of top ten countries most vulnerable to climate change as per the Global Climate Risk Index 2020. While the vision and the plan for action is welcome, there is a need for mainstreaming these climate-action interventions to the mass level. Only through investing in the rural communities in Pakistan can the distant dream of mainstreaming climate action could be truly achieved.
