The day I became the library prefect in secondary school, I knew things were about to get interesting. Fast forward to last Monday, President Bola Tinubu’s address to his new set of ministers reminded me of what Mr Akpan told us. A lean UNGA delegationSince assuming office, Nigerians have been asking President Tinubu to cut down on government spending. And months-long scheming to meet the President on foreign soil may have also gone down the drain. Few things give Nigerians hope than seeing the implementation of laws that curb the fiscal excesses of their leaders.

Gabon’s army has said that it would reopen the country’s borders, closed in the wake of the military coup that ousted ex-president, Ali Bongo Ondimba. General Brice Oligui Nguema, the head of the elite Republican Guard, on Wednesday led officers in a coup against Bongo, scion of a family that had ruled for 55 years.
