ASA’s Complaints Board upheld the objections and ordered the ad to be removed or not used again in its then-current form. In 2021 there were 1245 complaints concerning 570 ads and in 2020, 1151 complaints were lodged about 591 ads. Advertising Standards Authority chief executive Hilary Souter is expecting an increase in complaints this year with the upcoming General Election. With election advertising kicking off in July for this year’s General Election, Souter expected the number of complaints may increase again. A case is then prepared and handed over to the nine-member Complaints Board, which meets fortnightly, to consider.

As I said in December 2021:He is busily walking back the party’s proposal to allow further housing intensification in a joint approach with the Government. Scott Simpson said the bill was “effectively, National Party policy and it’s the sort of thing that we have campaigned on now for several elections”. National housing spokesperson Chris Bishop says he didn't have any notice that Christopher Luxon would be signalling a back-down on MDRS earlier this week. As said by Simpson this was core National Party policy, private land rights and all that stuff.

"In other words, New Zealand has a widening housing deficit," the report says. It says this is a marked turnaround from the situation up until the third quarter of last year, when the housing deficit had largely been eroded. "However new demand for housing outstripped new supply in both Q4 [fourth quarter] 2022 and [first quarter] 2023. "With net migration showing no signs of letting up yet, though we assume it will soon, that deficit is likely to keep widening for a while." "Our forecast is for net migration to ease from recent extremely high levels.

You read that right, the architect of neoliberalism on the show tonight with the best Public Economist in NZ and that awful Damien Grant who said such mean things about Chippy in the weekend! Issue 1 – Has Orr capitulated to the market and shown the limits of Monetarism? Issue 2 – Latest TVNZ Poll – should National just give up now? Issue 3 – Labour Party Conference – Chippy with a side of chips – carb overload or pass the tomato sauce? and Issue 4 – The latest Allan Hall revelations – are we locking up innocent people in NZ prisons?

Auckland councillors are about to make a decision on the centrepiece of this year’s council budget – the sale of publicly-owned shares in Auckland International Airport (AIAL). In fact, selling the airport shares was pitched by council managers to the previous mayor Phil Goff several times – and firmly rejected. It is my personal belief the present council finance ‘deficit’ crisis has been hyped to force the sale of airport shares. Moreover, despite Mayor Brown dismissing the airport shares as a ‘lousy investment’, since last October the share price has increased by over 21%. Revealingly, this dividend has not been factored into the council’s budget.

Lyall's personal coffee order is an oat milk flat white, a dairy-free milk that has taken the world of coffee by storm in recent years. Lyall even made the bold claim that oat milk was "better to work with than cows' milk". To make your own perfect coffee, Lyall said it's important to start with a good-quality bean, like the homegrown and roasted Eighthirty. The baristas have two tips when it comes to ordering the best beverage: a large coffee means more milk, not coffee, and don't order something "extra hot". While the two baristas may have their own bugbears when it comes to the art of coffee, they are very aware of every coffee drinker's personal preference.

St John ambulance manager Stuart Cockburn said the extra ramping time had resulted in a reduction, on average, of nine ambulance shifts per day. If it looked like wait times were starting to ramp up, St John alerted hospitals to get in extra staff, he said. She said another consequence of ambulance ramping was loss of face-to-face communication. At Auckland City Hospital, ramping increased nearly 600 percent since 2019 and at Waikato, it was up more than 680 percent. To cure ambulance ramping and ED overcrowding, New Zealand needed more staffed hospital beds, more mental health beds, more aged-care beds - more of everything, she said.

This comes as Payments NZ publishes its minimum open banking implementation plan. Open banking requires banks to share product and customer data with customers and third parties, with the consent of the customer. But Clark said then that actual implementation of open banking was still two years away. While limited open banking is already happening in NZ, Payments NZ says the timeline draws a line in the sand for broad market adoption and coverage. “Open banking is a powerful tool for enabling economic prosperity and financial wellbeing for consumers in Aotearoa.

The report was commissioned after the death of a heavily pregnant woman early last year when the woman’s admission to the hospital’s intensive care unit with sepsis was delayed. The pregnant woman’s delayed admission to the intensive care unit lasted several hours, as her condition worsened, and despite it being clear she was critically ill. She only made it to intensive care in the evening and died later that night.
