The oil and gas (O&G) industry is not immune to these kinds of vulnerabilities. There are several reasons to believe that cybersecurity should be of concern to the O&G industry in Malaysia. It is also important to note that most players serving Malaysia’s O&G industry are small and medium-sized O&G services and equipment (OGSE) players. The O&G industry involves an integrated and complex upstream and downstream supply chain, which could result in a ripple effect if or when vulnerabilities in cyberspace occur. The O&G industry in Malaysia should increase cybersecurity efforts to mitigate these issues and to prepare for ESG and sustainability reporting in this space.

SINGAPORE (April 28): Buying into the sharp slump in Malaysian short-tenor bonds may be a lucrative trade in emerging Asia due to an overpricing of rate hikes. Economists expect Bank Negara Malaysia to start hiking in the second half from the record low policy rate of 1.75%. Its spread over the policy rate widened to a record high of 189 basis points this week. Rate-differential impactEven if Malaysia’s central bank starts with rate hikes in the second half of the year, it will still lag the US Federal Reserve (Fed). The federal funds rate last overtook Malaysia’s policy rate in March 2005, with the positive spread remaining until December 2007.

Once deemed a basic human needs success story, Sri Lanka is now in its worst economic crisis since independence in 1948. Blaming Sri Lanka’s debt crisis on Chinese loans is not only factually wrong but also prevents understanding the origins and nature of its current crisis. As at April 2021, about 60% of Sri Lanka’s debt was for durations of less than 10 years. Deep-rooted problemsFollowing its 2001 recession, Sri Lanka recovered, before growth declined again after 2012 and the pandemic contraction in 2020. Sri Lanka’s debt crisis is clearly due to the policy choices of successive governments since the 1990s.

WHEN you place a file in a computer's recycle bin and clear it, it is gone forever and you will never get it back. Verdict:FALSEDeleting a file from your computer does not mean that it's gone forever, in fact it is fairly easy to recover a deleted file. The important part is that the computer 'remembers' that the data is there so it does not overwrite it. There are tools that are freely available online that can scan drives for deleted files and recover them. Again forensic tools (like what the police might use) can still recover files deleted this way.
