Djokovic confirms return to Tour at Miami Open
(Reuters) - World number one Novak Djokovic has said he will return to the court at this month's Miami Open having recuperated from a muscle tear suffered during his Australian Open title defence. The 33-year-old Serbian suffered the injury during a third round match at Melbourne Park but that did not stop him from clinching a record-extending ninth Australian Open title and his 18th Grand Slam. From Miami, where he has won six titles, Djokovic will head to Monaco for the Monte-Carlo Masters, running from April 11-18, before returning home to Belgrade for the ATP 250 Serbia Open. The Tour is returning to Belgrade for the first time since 2012, and the Serbia Open will be held at Djokovic's tennis center from April 19-25.

Malaysian entrepreneur upcycles kimonos into clothes, bags and accessories
Since last year, the Kuala Lumpur-based entrepreneur – who sells and rents vintage kimonos – has been upcycling the traditional Japanese garment and transforming them into blouses, tote bags, waist belts and wristlets. Instead of adding more rubbish into our landfills, my business partner and I decided to salvage kimono fabrics and turn them into useful items. The remaining fabric can turn into two medium tote bags (without lining). “I have three tote bags which I bring to work each day. Saluting women for their selfless contributions

Empower people in new norm
No one has been spared but some may have better financial, emotional and social support to cope with the pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, I used to procrastinate about exercising regularly because I was lazy and overlooked the benefits. These public parks are so important to me that I dreaded it when Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the facilities would be closed during the MCO. The authorities should empower the public to make their own decisions on whether to exercise in public parks. I do hope that in the future, under any form of restricted movement, public amenities such as parks will be kept open.

Drought forcing northern farmers to alternative crops
KEPALA BATAS: The current hot and dry weather has forced farmers in Seberang Perai to cultivate alternative crops. Padi farmer Mohd Yusri Mustafa, 42, said the drought had caused the yield of padi under the Padang Tembusu Area Farmers Organisation (PPK) in Penaga, near here, to drop by 40% or RM30,000. “I have planted about 600 papaya trees on a 1.52ha piece of land and, since it was my first time (planting papaya trees), it cost me about RM15,000, including irrigation, ” said the father of four. He hoped authorities like the National Farmers Organisation (Nafas) and PPK would improve their existing agricultural strategies to help farmers affected by the drought and the pandemic. The low water pressure has also caused the planting of seedlings to be postponed, ” he said.

Alpine skiing: Former slalom world champion Grange to retire
PARIS (Reuters) - Former slalom world champion Jean-Baptiste Grange will retire at the end of the season, the Frenchman said on Friday. "After 17 years on the World Cup circuit, it is time for me to close this beautiful chapter of my life and hang up my skis," Grange said in a statement on Facebook. He won the slalom world title in 2011 and 2015, also winning the slalom World Cup in 2009. Grange claimed nine World Cup victories, eight of them in slalom. The 36-year-old's best result this season is sixth place in the slalom in Madonna di Campiglio last December.
