KUALA LUMPUR: Chef Wan and his actress daughter are cooking up a storm, not in the kitchen, but on Instagram over her wedding that was said to have taken place in “Siam” (Thailand). On Friday, his daughter Serina uploaded a photo of her marriage on Instagram, saying that she had her father’s blessings. As for her recent wedding, Chef Wan, 63, had earlier refused to pay for it and insisted that she hold a small-scale ceremony instead. “I am shocked that papa claimed that we had gotten married in Siam, ” she said, adding that “the border is closed”. Her husband had met Chef Wan and he gave his blessings to their relationship, she added.

He said this to reporters after attending the Digital @ Jeli programme, organised by the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) at Pondok Moden here today. Among the four economic stimulus packages for the sector are the SME Digitalisation Grant under the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package and the Industry Digitalisation Transformation Scheme under the National Economic Recovery Plan (PENJANA), with allocations of RM100 million and RM16 million respectively. "Being a tattoo artist, I have had to accept the fact that people dismiss my skill, my studies, my personality... "I considered going to a clinic to see if they could get rid of the scar. "I was afraid if (my family) saw this big tattoo, they would think I was a party woman. If I can lose the shame around my scar, life gets more interesting."

CHENNAI, India (Reuters) - Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli believes Harshal Patel has solved the team's death-overs woes in the Indian Premier League (IPL) following the seamer's bowling masterclass in Friday's victory against champions Mumbai Indians. Patel claimed three wickets in four balls in the dramatic 20th over and conceded only one run to help restrict a star-studded Mumbai to a modest 159-9. "The last six overs for us, probably the best we've ever had," Kohli told broadcaster Star Sports after Patel scored the winning run to secure their narrow victory in Chennai. "The wickets that he got weren't fluke wickets," Kohli said. "That gave me a lot of clarity and confidence to work on my skills and develop plans against the batters I'm going to face in the death overs in various teams."

In my previous article, I had shared eight items that I feel is important for a young specialist to know before joining a private hospital. For those who have not read my previous articles in this series on surviving private practice in Malaysia, I left government service to join a new private hospital in Melaka as a specialist at the age of 34. Personally, I have continued imparting whatever I know to medical students, young doctors and specialists throughout my career, even while in private practice. Dr S. Selva is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, and fertility specialist, in private practice in Melaka. This is the sixth article in a weekly series about surviving private practice in Malaysia.

They would be cooking more than a dozen vegetarian dishes for the holidays, including this recipe, known as vendhaya kulambu in Tamil. It contains a lot of sweet shallots, which is why it is known as onion curry. However, this is a misnomer because vendhaya actually refers to fenugreek, the most dominant spice in this kulambu, or curry gravy. This curry is cooked down until it is sometimes known as onion chutney. Although it is usually known as onion curry, fenugreek seed is the dominant spice in this dish.

That was the original scoring system – 15x3 for men and 11x3 for women. The buzz for a change in the scoring took place in 2001 when the late Datuk Punch Gunalan was vice-president and the then marketing committee chairman of the International Badminton Federation (now known as Badminton World Federation). Seven months later, he defeated Chen Hong of China 17-14,15-10 in the 2003 All-England final, using the reverted old format. The proposal to amend the rule book, according to BWF president Poul-Erik Hoyer, came from the All-Indonesia Badminton Association (PBSI) and Badminton Maldives. Former world champion Axelsen made a good point – have the players been consulted on the proposed change of scoring?

But some things are harder to do online than others, and having to say goodbye to long-time colleagues is definitely one of them. Before everyone disappeared into remote working, colleagues leaving often brought cake, drinks or snacks or even organised a trip to the pub on their last day. But marking the occasion online in a manner that is not awkward can seem like an impossible feat. “You should generally invite everyone you’ve worked closely with on the team or in the department without going overboard,” Vogelsang recommends. Especially when the relationship wasn’t that close and just normal, it’s more than enough if everyone just brings their own drink to the online farewell.

Guardiola, who previously hailed Bielsa as one of the most important influences on his trophy-laden managerial career, was quick to return the compliment. LONDON (Reuters) - Despite the death of her husband Prince Philip, her partner and confidante during a record-breaking reign, there is little chance that 94-year-old Queen Elizabeth will abdicate, royal watchers believe. The love of her life, he married Elizabeth in 1947 and had been with her throughout her 69-year reign. "I can assure you the queen will not abdicate," royal historian Hugo Vickers said. Royal watchers say part of the reason why Elizabeth would avoid giving up the crown was the manner in which she became queen herself. "It is a job for life," Elizabeth once said, echoing a promise she made on her 21st birthday in 1947.

JAKARTA (The Jakarta Post/ANN): The government plans to spend Rp 4.01 trillion (US$275.15 million) this year on 108 basic infrastructure projects in five prioritised tourist destinations to spur visits. The government also expects the five destinations, along with Bali itself, to spur domestic travel and thereby help Indonesia’s tourist industry to recover this year. The industry is one of the hardest hit by the pandemic as countries and cities imposed mobility restrictions. Statistics Indonesia (BPS) data shows that foreign tourist arrivals to Indonesia were down 86.59 per cent year-on-year (yoy) in February as countries maintained travel restrictions. “Large-scale tourism development that tramples on human rights is fundamentally incompatible with the concept of sustainable development, ” De Schutter said.
