The scientists found that social norms have the strongest influence on whether people abide by rules or not. The research could prove significant in the global vaccination effort, as it comes at a time when some countries are seeing a waning interest in vaccination after an initial wave of eagerness. “Social norms are relatively powerful,” study co-author Stefan Janke from the University of Mannheim says. WHAT would you say if I told you aliens – as in extraterrestrials (ETs) – tried to warn us against destroying our environment 27 years ago? Yet no alien incursions at these sites led to nuclear detonations or launches that could have set off a war. Instead, it was as if, as one officer said, the aliens were asking, What are you people doing with nuclear weapons? When Harvard psychiatrist Dr John Mack interviewed the kids, they spoke of how the aliens stared at them with those huge eyes and conveyed messages. I only wish these benign beings will really show us how to stop ourselves from further harming Mother Earth.

Spoiler alert: If Keanu Reeves reaches out to you on social media and declares his romantic intentions, it's probably not really him. The Keanu Reeves scam is particularly intriguing because to many, if not most, people, it would seem to be obviously bogus. "Very quickly," she told me, "five different people saying they're Keanu Reeves approached me online." "Due to my profession and career," Fake Keanu said, "I want this to be a secret between you and I." Her exchanges with Fake Keanu go on and on over several days, clearly demonstrating a commitment on the scammer's part to pursue his mark over the long haul.

AT THE top of every parent’s mind is the safety of their children who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19. The situation is more pressing now as school will reopen soon and they need to get their children ready for it. “Although some malls allow children entry, I don’t think trying on clothes is permitted,” said the mother of two. “We have to do things differently and prioritise children’s social needs,“I personally feel any enclosed space is not safe for children.

KOTA KINABALU: The mild form of Covid-19 infections in Sarawak indicates a shift towards the endemic phase as the country achieves herd immunity, says Khairy Jamaluddin. “Only four of the 3,714 cases recorded on Monday were serious,” he told reporters after witnessing the single-dose CanSino vaccination drive for islanders in Pulau Larapan in Semporna yesterday. Khairy said that with the population in Sarawak already achieving herd immunity, it was clear that those who tested positive were only mildly infected. On the mobile vaccination drive, Khairy said the single-dose CanSino vaccine would be used for people on the islands, as well as those in the interior. “With a high vaccination rate, there is a significant drop in the severity of the disease and deaths,” he said when contacted.

"The wholesale price of chicken in Kelantan is only RM5.50... Meanwhile, a check at the Pasar Besar Kedai Payang found that the retail price of chicken at the central market is RM9.50 per kg. The traders said they are forced to sell at that price because the wholesale price touched RM8, while adding that they hope the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry will quickly address the issue.
