Gold and silver jumped to all-time highs, with escalating geopolitical tensions and US dollar weakness helping to extend a historic rally for precious metals. Frictions in Venezuela, where the US has blockaded oil tankers and ramped up pressure on the government of Nicolás Maduro, have added to the precious metal’s haven appeal. The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index, a gauge of the US currency’s strength, was down 0.8% for the week, its biggest drop since June. A weaker dollar is generally supportive of gold and silver prices. Lower borrowing costs are a tailwind for precious metals, which don’t pay interest, and traders are betting on more rate cuts in 2026.

A California equestrian who tried to hire a hitman to murder her estranged husband fatally shot herself outside a San Diego bar after being released from prison, but before facing arson charges for burning down the couple’s Del Mar mansion. The San Diego County Medical Examiner later confirmed Remley sustained “a self-inflicted gunshot wound” and was pronounced dead in a “public square” when first responders could not revive her. The ensuing decade saw a string of off-again-on-again divorce filings between the two, some laced with domestic violence accusations from Tatyana that Mark denied. A day later, a friend of the Remleys told Mark that Tatyana had put a US$2mil (RM8.09mil) bounty on his head and was shopping for a hitman. Sheriff’s deputies arranged a sting and arrested Tatyana that August after she divulged “detailed information on how she wanted her husband killed and his body disposed” to an undercover detective, police said.

“Taxpayers are required to complete the stamp duty return form (BNDS) through the e-Duti Setem (e-DS) system, and provide the details for the purpose of calculating the stamp duty. “I believe people are more concerned when they are required to assess the stamp duty themselves, compared with before. Shafudin also said that the existing method of paying stamp duty remains unchanged, with payments continuing to be made online through the FPX platform. “Stamp duty is not merely a form of payment, but a confirmation of the legal validity of a document. Without stamp duty, documents may be considered invalid and difficult to accept in official matters, including in court,” he said.
