Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba said the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will begin the KCSE, KJSEA and KPSEA examinations on Monday to run within the timelines provided. According to the CS, Registration for KPSEA will run from February 16 and close on March 16, while KCSE registration will begin on the same date and end on March 31. On the other hand, registration for KJSEA will start later on March 2 and also close on March 31.

Mukhwana: 2027 polls will be secure, impossible to rig under current IEBC systems
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has assured Kenyans that the country’s electoral system is fully secure, dismissing claims that the 2027 General Election could be manipulated. Commissioner Alutalala Mukhwana said the commission is properly constituted and has put in place robust procedures that make it impossible to steal an election. He urged citizens to ignore what he termed “street talk” and instead participate actively in voter registration and the electoral process. It is impossible to steal an election under the current system,” Mukhwana said. Preparations for the 2027 general election is on top gear with the IEBC currently conducting voter registration.

The magistrate found that the proceedings referenced in the article had not been canvassed in open court at the time of publication. The media house also maintained that it used cautionary language such as “alleges” and “claims” in its reporting. While awarding Ksh2.5 million in general damages, the court declined to grant a permanent injunction against the media house, citing the need to balance protection of reputation with constitutional guarantees of press freedom.

The Kenya Meteorological Department has urged Kenyans in several counties to prepare for afternoon showers and thunderstorms, even as most parts of the country experience sunny intervals. The capital, Nairobi, is forecast to record a maximum of 29°C and a minimum of 16°C, with sunny intervals expected throughout much of the day. Similarly, in the North Eastern region, Marsabit county will also face strong winds and sunny intervals for most of the day, including Garissa, Mandera, Wajir and Isiolo. The South Eastern lowlands, covering Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, Taita Taveta and Kajiado counties, will see partly cloudy conditions tonight before sunny intervals prevail during the day. At the Coast, counties including Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Lamu and Tana River will also experience mainly sunny intervals after a partly cloudy night.
