According to Nadia, the fare agreed upon was GHC3 while the taxi driver said it was GHC4. Jagger, who was alleged to have hassled the taxi driver and was holding him before the shooting was convicted for abetment of crime. According to Gemann, Jagger Pee who was first to be released never visited him while he was still in Prison. Gemann who was happy that I had been rearrested started jubilating by dancing and singing when he saw me," Jagger Pee told Nana Ampofo.

Sports Minister engages retired sportsmen after meeting ex-footballers

PAC sitting at Sunyani turns dramatic

PAC is in Sunyani to investigate claims made in the Auditor General’s report that 335 students of the Nkoranman SHS had their names in the school’s enrolment list but were not in the students’ ledgers. These receipts, however, did not form part of the school’s income for the 2017 financial year, the report added. The week-long PAC sitting in Sunyani was to deal with the report of the Auditor-General on pre-tertiary institutions and technical universities in the Bono, Bono East, Ahafo and Ashanti regions for the financial year ending December 31, 2017.

Self-acclaimed prophetess linked to beheading of 12-year-old arrested
The incident which happened at Mafi Dove in the Central Tongu District is reported to have involved the beheading of the boy by one Dovi Tsidi, graphic.com.gh has reported. The suspect, Flora Ekpe, was arrested after Dovi Tsidi, 26, the main suspect in the case, alleged that he was sent by her to bring a human head for ritual purposes. The report added that both suspects are currently assisting with investigations while in custody at the Sogakofe Divisional Police Command. Other details of the case say that the deceased was allegedly beheaded by his relative, Dovi Tsidi at Mafi Aflokofe at 9:00 pm on Sunday. He explained that it was after this that the suspect went into hiding with the self-acclaimed prophetess at a prayer camp.

Headmaster of Domeabra Basic School cries for new school building
Domeabra D/A Basic School was established in 1986 by the community folks and since its establishment, successive governments have failed to put up a decent classroom block for the community. During a visit to the school by GhanaWeb's Western Regional Correspondent, it was observed that the wooden and muddy school building does not have doors and windows. The headmaster told GhanaWeb that trained teachers have been refusing postings to the school due to the lack of electricity in the area and also the poor nature of the building. "From KG to primary 6, only three teachers including myself as a headmaster are teaching here. We also want School Feeding Programme, our furniture is not enough, we need some", he concluded.

Economist predicts further depreciation of cedi for remaining months of 2021
According to Courage Martey, the pressure on the cedi as well as some external factors like inflation will further cause its depreciation. So from where we are it would not be out of place to see the Cedi recording some more depreciation,” Martey told Citi Business News. These indicators show that there is scope for the depreciation of the Cedi beyond where we are today”. The Ghana cedi begun this year [2021] with some stability, trading at GH¢5.76 pesewas per US$1, from January through to June. But the recent drop of cedi against the US dollar, in the months of July and August, saw a 2 percent drop in its value thus trading at GH¢6.

He added that, unlike most journalists who have sold their conscience and reputation for monies from political parties, nobody can say that he has ever taken a bribe from them. “I don’t have any interest anywhere, up till now in my professional life, I have never collected bribe, never. I will kill myself, I will commit suicide the very day I take a bribe," he said. I will rather shoot myself in the head if I ever do something against the country. The call comes after Governor of the Central Bank, Dr Ernest Addison revealed that the overall profitability of the rural banking sectors has remained positive as at the end of June 30, 2021. Making the disclosure in a speech at the 40th-anniversary celebration of the Akuapem Rural Bank, the central bank governor said advances, deposits and investments in the rural banking sector also increased by 23.6, 31.2 and 50.1 percent, respectively. “It is our expectation that all rural and community banks will fully comply with the minimum capitalisation requirement of GH¢1million by the end of 2021 and maintain the increased capital unimpaired,” the governor urged. "The increased number of rural banks has been accompanied by increased customer reach, technology deployment, as well as improved delivery of financial services within the local communities," he concluded.
