Adwoa Safo Will Return From US Next Week – Aide
Nana Dubin Kwapong, personal assistant to Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has disclosed that the MP will arrive in the country next week. In an interview with Joy News, Mr. Kwapong said although the MP was absent from the country, she was effectively discharging her constitutionally mandated duties. Mr. Kwapong further stated that Sarah Adwoa Safo was in support of the controversial E-levy contrary to the false impression being created by political detractors. He said the MP will be back in the country next week to support the passage of the E-Levy Bill. “As far as I’m speaking to the E-levy, it is something Honorable [Sarah Adwoa Safo] supports and when she comes to town, she will definitely be in Parliament to support its passage.

Bobie Ansah’s wild allegations that may have sparked his troubles
On a previous episode on his show, Bobie Ansah accused the first lady of appropriating state lands to herself for the use of her private foundation. “Do you know that Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Samira have appropriated for themselves the aviation lands?” he questioned in a short video of the programme obtained by GhanaWeb. Felix Kwakye Ofosu Drags Samira Bawumia Over 2016 Comment...
Former Deputy Minister for Information under the erstwhile National Democratic Congress government, Felix Kwakye-Ofosu, has called out Second Lady of the State, Hajia Samira Bawumia following the arrest of Accra FM journalist, Bobie Ansah. But reacting to the development in a Twitter, Kwakye-Ofosu accused the second lady of having double standards and being a hypocrite. Mr. Ofosu shared a 2016 publication by GhanaWeb, in which the second lady during a campaign event, tagged then President John Dramani Mahama as corrupt. Appiatse Fund Gets $5m From MAXAM’s $6m Fine
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has ordered $5 million out of the total $6 million fine imposed on MAXAM Ghana Limited to be paid into the coffers of the Appiatse Support Fund. The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor on Monday announced the imposition of a $1 million administrative fine and an additional $5 against MAXAM. “By law, the One Million Dollars (US$1,000,000.00), which constitutes the administrative fine, forms part of the Internally Generated Funds (IGF) of the Minerals Commission, the regulator of the sector. The President has, therefore, directed that the additional Five Million Dollars (US$5,000,000.00), to be paid by Maxam to Government, be donated to the Appiatse Support Fund to support the reconstruction of the community. Accordingly, I have directed the Minerals Commission to ensure that the said Five Million Dollars (US$5,000,000.00) is paid to the Appiatse Support Fund, in accordance with the agreed terms of payment,” the minister said.

ASEPA Boss In Police Grips, Charged With False News Publication
Mensah Thompson, the Executive Director of the Alliance For Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA), is in the grips of the Ghana Police Service, Accra-based Citi FM have reported. Supreme Court orders investigations into alleged assault of bailiff by MP’s bodyguard
The High Court ordered Gyekye Quayeson to cease holding himself as an MP and ordered fresh elections in the Assin North Constituency. The accused person picked up nomination forms to contest for the position of Member of Parliament for Assin North Constituency. The accused person at the time was a Ghanaian and a Canadian citizen, making him a dual citizenship holder. The accused person was subsequently charged with the offences in the charge sheet. It is based on these facts that the accused person, James Gyakye Quayson, has been arraigned for trial.”
