Ghana Day celebrations in Guyana became a symbol of shared aspirations for freedom and self-determination. Two years later, the Ghana Day celebrations witnessed a remarkable expansion in scale. The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) said it has encountered a funding shortfall in meeting the needs of refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and communities in Ethiopia. Visitors can now pinch and zoom their way around the ancient Greek site, with a digital overlay showing how it once looked. That includes a collection of marble sculptures removed from the Parthenon more than 200 years ago that are now on display at the British Museum in London. Other, less widely known features also appear: Many of the sculptures on the Acropolis were painted in striking colors. "Accessibility is extending to the digital space," Mendoni said at a preview launch event for the Chronos app in May. "Real visitors and virtual visitors anywhere around the world can share historical knowledge."

Ethiopian security forces have arrested a number of Boko Haram and al-Shabab terror groups linked suspects, local officials said Saturday. The statement didn't detail the exact number of the detained terror suspects. It didn't specify the type of terror attacks either or the terror targets the suspects are accused of planning to strike. The statement, however, showed photos of at least three terror suspects and high-tech communication equipment they're accused of using to secretly communicate with each other. Boko Haram is a militant Islamic rebel group originating from Nigeria but it has also been implicated in terror attacks in several West and Central African countries.

The complete manuscript of Messay Kebede’s new bookThe desire to allow open access to a large number of Ethiopian readers explains the reason why this manuscript was not submitted to a normal academic publisher. Unfortunately, the agreement fell apart following my resolution to include a chapter critical of Abiy Ahmed’s policy, the current prime minister of Ethiopia. Aware of the closure of any possibility for open access posting in Ethiopia so long as the present government is in place, I decided to send out the manuscript to some of the websites stationed outside Ethiopia and regularly visited by Ethiopian intellectuals and a wide Ethiopian readership. I hereby extend my gratitude to the editors and webmasters of the websites I contacted for agreeing to post the manuscript in its entirety. The seal of Cirque du Soleil is at the service, this time, to pay tribute to the figure of Lionel Messi, and has achieved this unique combination of Messi10. To all this traditional circus art are added small games with freestyle balls – it is impossible not to include them -, more or less the protagonist depending on the paintings, and often combined with other circus disciplines. And this is because each scene is organized around a value or attribute of Messi, which it seeks to express. One, perseverance, hard work, constant training: “17 years of hard work brought Leo Messi to become a success overnight,” the screen says, among other things. The two, they said from the production, are what the star asked to be highlighted when he joined the production of the show.

When Yared Markos moved to London 25 years ago, he did not see any Ethiopian coffee shops. In Ethiopia, coffee is usually drank at the end of each meal. “They sell our coffee in Starbucks and other places, but they don’t follow our traditions,” said Markos, who has owned Kaffa Coffee since 2004. Anteneh Mulu is one of the owners of The Ethiopian Coffee Company in central London. He said the festival has helped spread Ethiopian coffee to a new community.
