Egypt’s West Gerga industrial zone hosts Middle East’s first cooling compressor plant
A new cooling compressor plant, described as the first of its kind in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa, has commenced operations in the West Gerga industrial zone as part of a wider EGP 1.6bn development programme in Upper Egypt. Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Minister Rania Al-Mashat and Local Development Minister Manal Awad, who is also acting Environment Minister, inspected the facility alongside Sohag Governor Abdul Fattah Serag. The West Gerga industrial zone spans 1,089 acres and is located 8km from Sohag International Airport and 50km from Sohag city. Minister Al-Mashat said the project reflects the state’s strategy to establish integrated industrial infrastructure and increasethe contribution of Upper Egypt governorates to the gross domestic product. Minister Awad highlighted that the PLDUE has injected approximately EGP 1.6bn into the West Gerga zone.

Israeli army announces killing Hamas commander Hassan Farhat in Lebanon
CAIRO – 4 April 2025: The Israeli army announced on Friday’s early morning, killing Hamas commander Hassan Farhat during a strike in Lebanon's Sidon. Farhat was the commander of the western sector of Hamas in Lebanon, the Israeli army said. Lebanese news reports said that three people were killed on Friday in an Israeli strike, that targeted a civilian apartment. During the war, Farhat was responsible for numerous attacks, including launching rockets into Safed, the Israeli military added. Israeli attacks on Lebanon killed more than 4,000 people since the Gaza war.

New Rafah city thriving, not designed for Palestinian displacement: North Sinai governor

Egypt maintains open Rafah crossing for humanitarian aid
CAIRO - 25 March 2025: The Rafah border crossing remains open on the Egyptian side as authorities await the arrival of injured Palestinians, patients, and their companions for urgent medical treatment. However, the crossing remains closed from the Palestinian side due to Israeli restrictions, preventing the passage of humanitarian cases. A source at the crossing confirmed that Israeli authorities continue to block the movement of people from Gaza, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. As of March 17, Egypt has received 45 groups of patients, totaling 1,700 injured or sick individuals, accompanied by 2,500 family members. Meanwhile, all entry points to Gaza remain sealed for the 26th consecutive day, preventing the delivery of humanitarian aid, relief supplies, and essential reconstruction materials.

For the First Time, Amir Ramses Joins Jury of Tetouan Festival
Director Amir Ramses is to take part in the feature film jury; (narrative and documentary), at the 30th Tetouan Mediterranean Film Festival in northern Morocco, scheduled to take place from April 26th to May 3rd. Ramses mentioned that it's his first participation, as a jury member, in Tetouan Festival, which includes several prominent figures, such as the jury head, Italian director, screenwriter, and actor Daniele Luchetti. Furthermore, the jury includes French journalist, director and critic for "Positif" magazine, Nguyen Truong Bing, who is interested in film documentation issues. The festival celebrates three decades of dedication to promoting Mediterranean cinema and enriching cinema in Morocco. The festival was founded in 1985 at the initiative of the Friends of Cinema Association in Tetouan.

Sudan's military take control of presidential palace

Egypt achieves unprecedented success in eliminating Hepatitis C: Health Minister

Al-Sisi hosts leaders of major international industrial companies to strengthen collaboration

Israeli Cabinet approves ceasefire agreement in Lebanon
CAIRO – 26 November 2024: The Israeli Cabinet has approved on Tuesday the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon. Netanyahu said that there is a need to undermine the capabilities of the Lebanese Hezbollah, which have expanded over decades. - The official security and military forces in Lebanon will be the only armed groups authorized to carry weapons or operate forces in southern Lebanon. - A committee acceptable to Israel and Lebanon will be formed, and will monitor and help ensure the implementation of the agreement terms. - Lebanon will deploy its official security forces and military forces along all borders, crossings, and the line defining the southern zone as set out in the deployment plan.

Egyptian, Congolese FMs discuss boosting bilateral ties

Sudan's neighboring states must not bear burden alone: Egyptian FM
CAIRO – 26 November 2024: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty underscored Monday the "unfairness" of leaving neighboring states bear the largest burden of the humanitarian crisis in Sudan as they received over three million displaced, who mostly headed to Egypt. The minister's statement was made during a meeting of the "Quartet on Sudan" comprising United States, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Egypt, and that was held on the sidelines of the G7 Ministerial Meetings in Italy. In the same context, the Egyptian minister stressed the importance of accomplishing stability in Sudan, preserving its state institutions, sovereignty and territorial integrity. The number of refugees and asylum seekers registered with UNHCR Egypt hit 818,376 by October 30, 2024, rising by around 45.4 percent as 371,838 have been registered this year only. The organization indicated that the figure, which is 1.2 million, is based on the data of the Egyptian government.

Egypt upholds 'clear and respected' stance on supporting Lebanon: Lebanese Min.
