Meet the first Cameroonian to invest in cement production
A share in the capital of this cement production unit, the 4th in the country, is owned by Cameroonian Emmnanuel Peughouia. In the end, FCfa 20.3 billion in total were invested by both partners in the Cameroonian economic capital, for a yearly production of 600,000 tons of cement extensible to one million tons. This partnership, which according to Emmanuel Peughouia “associates the expertise in cement production in Turkey to the Cameroonian experience in terms of distribution of building materials”, provides this businessman with the title of first Cameroonian to invest in the production of cement in his country. Indeed, for 48 years, Cimencam, subsidiary of the Lafarge-Holcim group, had a monopolistic reign over the Cameroonian cement market. This operator was followed a year later, on the Cameroonian market by Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, and today by the first Cameroonian businessman: Emmanuel Peughouia.

This comes on the heels of the closure of local based radio in Bamenda, Hot Cocoa Radio FM 94.0 for illegal exploitation and broadcasting which incites violence in their interactive program called the ‘Biggest Breakfast Show’. According to reports gathered from Equinoxe radio, the Regional Delegate for Communication NWR Dr Louis Marie Megne, only Pater Essoka can decide whether or not Hot Cocoa should remain closed for the time being. According to the regional order brandished on the seal letter, the interactive program has been helping to fuel the existing crisis in Bamenda. According to the Presenters they received several calls from anonymous callers after last Fridays edition threatening that the station will be closed down.
