A statement from the Chief Advisor’s Office on Monday said the national flag will be flown at half-mast at all government, semi-government, autonomous institutions and educational institutions across the country. It will also fly at half-mast at all government, private buildings and Bangladeshi missions abroad. Special prayers will be organised at all places of religious worship in the country for the injured and the dead. At least one person has died and around 50 others, mostly students, have been injured or burnt when the F-7 BJI training jet crashed shortly after takeoff around 1pm.

Police have recovered the bloodied body of a factory official from a locked room in Gazipur city’s Konabari area. The dead man was identified as 48-year-old Md Rafiqul Islam, who hailed from Tangail’s Dhanbari Thana. After recovering the body of Rafiqul, an official in the accounting department of the factory, the police sent it to the morgue of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur. At noon, they broke the lock with help from the owner of the house and entered the flat to found Rafiqul's body lying on the bed. Police official Al-Amin said, " Rafiqul’s head and right thigh had signs of being struck by a sharp weapon.

Bangladesh has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United States to import 700,000 tonnes of wheat annually at competitive prices as it seeks to offset the impact of new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration.The MoU was signed at the Ministry of Food on Sunday, the ministry said in a statement.Bangladesh and the US have a trade deficit of $6 billion. Hamiduzzaman Khan, an illustrious sculptor and artist, has died at the age of 79. He passed away at 10:07am on Sunday while undergoing treatment at Dhaka's United Hospital, according to his wife and painter Ivy Zaman. Hamiduzzaman was admitted to the hospital on Jul 15 and had been in intensive care for three days, she said. His body may be taken to Dhaka University's Faculty of Fine Arts from the hospital, Ivy said. Once the family informs us, we will notify everyone," said Azharul Islam, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dhaka University.

Police have initiated four murder cases over the deadly violence surrounding a National Citizen Party rally in Gopalganj. According to bdnews24.com, each of the cases lists 1,400-1,500 unidentified members of the Awami League and its affiliated groups. On Sunday, Gopalganj Sadar Police chief Mir Mohammad Sajedur Rahman said the cases were registered late Saturday night.
