BNP has expelled Mohammad Ishaq Sarker for defying party directives by contesting the parliamentary election in the Dhaka-7 constituency as an independent candidate against the party’s official nominee. He previously served as organising secretary of the central committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and as organising secretary of the central executive committee of Jubo Dal. Ishaq Sarker is contesting the Dhaka-7 seat as an independent candidate with the football symbol. BNP central executive committee member Hamidur Rahman is the party’s nominee in the constituency, contesting with the sheaf of paddy symbol. Jamaat candidate Enayet Ullah is also in the race in the constituency, contesting with the scales symbol.
