Members of the Egyptian community in Canada participated in this event, which was organized by the Egyptian embassy in Canada. The Egyptian Embassy in Canada organized many virtual and actual events over the month of July to celebrate both National Day and Egyptian Heritage Month.

During the tour, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Assistant Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Ahmed Al-Azazi briefed the President on the 140-km development project, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement. Sisi said that new corridors, which are currently being established, should help accommodate traffic movement for the coming 20 years. He added that he is closely following with all the projects that are being currently implemented all over the country. The Transport Ministry has received more financial allocations over the past years compared to other ministries, Sisi said. The cost of constructing these roads is very huge, but we will start work now to end the problems of the area, he added.

CAIRO - 23 July 2021: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi was seen talking to a an Egyption family while he was riding his bicycle in Alamein city, early Friday. Another video footage of the President talking with one of the conscripted policemen went viral on social media. The video shows how President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was keen to listen to citizens to be aware of their conditions closely. While he was driving his bicycle, President Sisi was talking with a 29-year-old conscript called “Ayman,” who spoke about his job and his monthly salary. President Sisi promised to help the conscript, whose service will end in April 2022, and asked him to work hard for a better life.

Egypt’s Health Ministry on Thursday confirmed 44 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total number of confirmed cases up to 283,906. The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 16,470 nationwide, after the ministry announced five deaths. And 666 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising Egypt’s total number of fully-recovered cases to 226,535. The Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Supply, Medical Supply and Medical Technology Administration (UPA) announced in mid-June that it has secured over 46 million COVID-19 doses during the fiscal year 2020/2021. Egypt’s Prime Minister added that Egypt has also produced one million doses of coronavirus vaccines thus far.

On Thursday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the German shipbuilding company Lürssen, Peter Lürssen, to discuss providing the navy with new technology. Sisi’s spokesperson Bassam Rady announced the meeting, adding that the two discussed developing Egypt’s maritime industry and specifics around its technological development. According to Rady, the meeting falls within the framework of Egypt’s interest in upgrading the industry, which requires comprehensive development in workforce training, including that for engineers and technicians. Lürssen is a German company for the manufacture of ships, founded in 1875 by Friedrich Lürssen. The company manufactures yachts and warships of all kinds, including missile boats and frigates.

Meteorologists predict another heatwave to hit Egypt in the middle of next week, on Tuesday, as temperatures decrease from last week’s spike. Very hot weather will prevail in Upper Egypt and South Sinai, with cooler but still hot temperatures predicted for the north coast and hot and humid weather in Cairo and the Delta. Temperatures will grow moderate but remain humid over Cairo and the other regions at night. Light rain is expected over Shalateen, Halayeb and Abu Simbel on Friday and Saturday, with northwest winds blowing over Cairo, South Sinai, the southernmost part of the country, and the northwest coast. The weather will remain very hot weather in Upper Egypt and hot, humid weather in Cairo on Saturday.

CAIRO – 23 July 2021: Non-vaccinated people will not be allowed into private and public facilities in Saudi Arabia, according to a report by the Labor Representation Office at the Egyptian Consulate General in Riyadh. This decision will applied as of August 1, while everyone will be complied with the precautionary measures to preserve public health. “The ministry confirmed that the condition of vaccination will be mandatory to enter commercial centers, malls, wholesale and retail stores, public benefit markets, restaurants and cafes, men's barbershops and women's beauty salons in KSA,” said Labor Attaché Ahmed Ragai, head of the Labor Representation Office in Riyadh. Egypt’s Manpower Ministry received a report from the Labor Representation Office at the Egyptian Consulate General in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of its follow-up to the conditions of Egyptian workers in different countries through the operations room established in labor representation offices abroad to respond to any inquiries, and provide support and assistance to them at any time. This follow-up system has been intensified since the spread of the Coronavirus, to preserve the rights of Egyptian workers in countries, which may be affected by some of the measures taken by some countries in this regard.

CAIRO – 23 July 2021: Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to his Egyptian counterpart, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, as Egypt celebrates the 69th anniversary of the 23rd of July Revolution. “Dear friend, please accept sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the July revolution of 1952,” Putin wrote in the telegram. “Russia highly values relations with Egypt, developing in the spirit of strategic partnership,” he added. The Egyptian July 23 Revolution took place on 23 July, 1952 by the Free Officers Movement, a group of army officers led by Mohamed Naguib and Gamal Abdel Nasser, who later became presidents. The revolution overthrew King Farouk’s regime and abolished monarchy.

On Thursday, Russia stressed the need to reach a solution to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) conflict through tripartite negotiations under the auspices of the African Union. Ahmed published new pictures of the dam on Twitter, after the second filling was complete. Cairo and Khartoum strongly objected the second filling in the absence of a binding legal agreement between the three countries, who have been negotiating the issue for years. Addis Ababa carried out the first filling of GERD in July 2020, according to what Ahmed’s office announced at the time. Moreover, the Sudanese government has renewed its firm position by rejecting Ethiopia’s unilateral measures and fait accompli policies and ignoring the legitimate interests and serious concerns of its river partners.

ReutersCAIRO – 23 July 2021: Egypt's Fuel Automatic Pricing Committee decided to raise gasoline prices by 25 piasters per liter and to keep the prices of diesel and mazut unchanged until the end of September. According to the new hike, the new prices per liter will be LE 6.75 for 80 octane gasoline, LE 8 for 92 octane gasoline, and LE 9 for 95 octane gasoline. The price of diesel will remain standing at LE 6.75 per liter and mazut for the industrial sector will stand at LE 3900 per ton. Egypt has raised the prices of fuel many times over the past few years, the last of which was in April, when the committee raised the price of gasoline by 25 piasters.

Following a viral Facebook photo of a person carrying a lion cub on his shoulder and roaming the streets of Ain Sokhna in Egypt’s Suez Governorate, security services in the area made a statement. According to a statement by the Ministry of the Interior, Wednesday, the person in the photo was a photographer residing in Cairo who was found in possession of a 5-month-old lion cub without a license. The man intended to photograph the lion at a resort as part of his job, according to the statements. He was arrested by forces of the Suez Security Directorate and will have charges pressed against him.

The meeting was attended by Commander of the Egyptian Naval Force Ahmed Khaled and CEO of the German shipyard Peter Lurssen among others. Earlier this month, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated Egypt’s latest naval base, the 3 July Base, in Gargoub on the northwestern coast near Libya. The president arrived to inaugurate the military base, where he inspected the new naval vessels at the base.

CAIRO- 22 July 2021: Egypt expresses on Wednesday its sincere condolences and sympathies to the friendly People's Republic of China and to the families of the innocent victims of the floods that struck central China’s Henan Province, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries; and wishes a speedy recovery for all the injured. The Egyptian government and people affirm that they stand in solidarity with the government and people of friendly China in these painful circumstances, said Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Hafez. The floods have claimed the lives of 33 people so far, and displaced thousands of people, Reuters reported. The direct economic losses were estimated at $189 million, it added.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced that a fourth wave of coronavirus will hit Egypt in late September or early October. The source added that no drugs have been removed from the treatment protocol, but immunostimulating drugs are being added. The sources added that the Delta variant spreads faster than other variants and is particularly dangerous for children.
