In that context, both ministers discussed delegating Egyptian experts to transfer experience to the South Sudanese side in the fields of cattle care and medicines. The Egyptian minister noted that South Sudan enjoys vast spaces to establish fisheries whose output can fulfill local needs and also achieve surplus. Qusair stated that the delegation accompanying the South Sudanese minister will visit a number of public agricultural research centers and projects to get an idea about the Egyptian experience in the sector.

REUTERS: Toby Alderweireld has completed a permanent move from Tottenham Hotspur to Qatari side Al Duhail, the Premier League club said on Tuesday (Jul 27), bringing an end to the Belgium defender's six-year stay in north London. While no financial details were disclosed, British media reported Al Duhail agreed a deal worth £13 million (US$17.92 million) for the 32-year-old centre back. Alderweireld, who joined Tottenham from Atletico Madrid in July 2015, went on to make 236 appearances for Spurs, forming a solid central defensive partnership with compatriot Jan Vertonghen. Under former manager Mauricio Pochettino, Alderweireld was central to the side that finished second in the Premier League in 2016-17 and made a run to the Champions League final two seasons later. Alderweireld, capped 113 times by Belgium, featured in four games for the national side at Euro 2020, where they were beaten by eventual winners Italy in the quarter-finals.

Tunisia's Al Nahda Movement, formerly known as the Islamic Direction Movement, won the majority of seats in the parliamentary elections of 2011 and 2018, and came second in that of 2014. As a result, late Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi from Nidaa Tunes – a secular party - was elected for office in 2014 succeeded by the incumbent president, who is independent, in 2019. It is noteworthy to mention that the Islamist movement became officially a political party after the 2011 revolution that toppled former Tunisian President Zein El Abdin Bin Ali. The Tunisian former parliamentarian and Egyptian Expert in Arab Affairs Hamed Fares attributed this to a decade of failure by the governments formed by Al Nahda movement since the Arab Spring in 2011. A number of Tunisian parties have also expressed support to the decision of President Said, including Afaq Tunis Party, and Al Takatol Al Tunisi Party.

The Egyptian Health and Population Ministry on Monday the lowest infection rates since the coronavirus first brought out, with 35 new coronavirus cases now bringing the country’s total up to 284,059. The total tally of COVID-19-related deaths is currently 16,494 nationwide, after the ministry announced seven more. The Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Supply, Medical Supply and Medical Technology Administration (UPA) announced in mid-June that it has secured over 46 million COVID-19 doses during the fiscal year 2020/2021. Egypt’s Prime Minister added that Egypt has also produced one million doses of coronavirus vaccines thus far.

CAIRO - 26 July 2021: The Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) announced the details and controls of the compulsory purchase offer submitted by the Arab Banking Corporation, to purchase up to 300 million shares, which represents up to 100 percent of the issued capital of BLOM Bank Egypt. The stock exchange indicated in a statement, Monday that the purchase offer price is LE 22.33 per share, and the execution and settlement currency is equivalent to $1.42 per share. It said that the validity period of the offer is 10 working days, starting from the day following the date of publishing the announcement of the purchase offer until the end of the trading session on August 5, noting that the implementation will take place on the Egyptian Stock Exchange within 5 working days after the expiry of the offer period. On July 18, The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) agreed to publish the announcement of the compulsory purchase offer submitted by the Arab Banking Corporation (ABC) to 300 million shares, representing up to 100% of the capital of BLOM Bank Egypt, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter Twelve of the Executive Regulations of Law 95 of 1992. The amount offered by ABC for the acquisition is estimated at LE 6.7 billion ($427 million).

The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) at the School of Business Administration at the American University in Cairo (AUC) has signed an agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to support entrepreneurship. The IFC will support center in the next 18 months to adopt and customize the MIT VMS Program and adapt it to the local context in the Egyptian market. Through this agreement, the CEI obtains the MIT VMS license to become a certified member. It will then create a network of qualified mentors to guide aspiring entrepreneurs with existing projects in Egypt, throughout the startup lifecycle. The Center’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Team will be responsible for strengthening and managing the mentoring network and choosing mentors to implement and formally operate a sustainable mentoring program at the AUC School of Business based on the MIT Entrepreneurship Mentoring Program.

Very hot and humid weather is predicted in Cairo, the Delta, South Sinai, Upper Egypt, and the north coast. Forbes magazine published a classification of the strongest Arab economies in 2021, with Saudi Arabia in first place and Egypt third. Egypt had fallen one place to reach third in the Arab world this year with its GDP expected to reach $394.3 billion, compared to $361.8 billion in 2020. “Saudi Arabia is the largest Arab economy in 2021, with a GDP at current prices totaling $804.9 billion,” the Forbes magazine’s official Twitter account wrote. The UAE came in second place, with its 2021 GDP recording $401.5 billion, followed by Egypt, with its GDP expected to reach $394.3 billion. According to the report, the UAE advanced one place in 2021 from its classification in 2020, and the UAE advanced over Egypt as well in this year’s classification.

Terry joined Villa as a player on a one-year deal in 2017, captaining the team to a fourth-place finish in the second-tier Championship but missed out on promotion to the Premier League. Terry, who previously spent 19 seasons with Chelsea, ended his playing career in October 2018 and was named assistant to Villa manager Dean Smith later that month, helping the team achieve promotion the same season. CAIRO - 26 July 2020: Health Minister Hala Zayed said Sunday that 281 people have donated their blood plasma at plasma collection centers since July 14. Donors are being received in six plasma donation centers in five governorates, spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said, adding that 20 other centers are to open later this year. Egypt has launched the national plasma donation project as part of a presidential initiative for the production and self-sufficiency of plasma derivatives. The project will help achieve self-sufficiency of plasma derivatives, thus providing medicines for many chronic diseases, liver and kidney illnesses, and burns. Supervisor of the national plasma donation project Nevine el Nahas urged those above 18 years to actively take part in the project and periodically donate their plasma every two weeks in line with instructions of the World Health Organization.

CAIRO - 26 July 2020: The Health Ministry said Sunday night that 39 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak in the country began to 284,024. In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said six patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 16,487. As many as 422 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 227,612 so far, the spokesman said. Egypt successfully is past a third wave of the pandemic, reporting daily coronavirus counts that are less than 100 for the first time since October last year. Egypt has produced a million Sinovac vaccine doses locally and has imported millions of jabs to vaccinate 40 percent of its 100 million population by the end of the year, a step that the World Health Organization has hailed.
