The Industrial products company on Friday signed a contract with the National Company for Animal Production of the National Service Projects Organization to establish Egypt’s first factory to generate electricity from bioenergy (biogas) in Sadat City. The factory will annually process 85,000 tons of cattle dung to produce one megawatt/hour of electricity to be connected to the national electricity grid. The factory also contributes to reducing greenhouse emissions by about 5,000 tons of carbon dioxide. The factory represents fruitful cooperation between the private sector and state agencies in electricity production from livestock dung, which is worthy of replication in various other sectors, especially with regard to new and renewable energy. This in turn contributes to the dissemination of biogas technology among students in an academic and research field.

Furthermore, the two federations will participate in the third economic and trade exhibition in Hunan, China, and FEDCOC will participate in the Arab-German Business Forum, which will be held at the beginning of June in the German capital, Berlin. Ibrahim El-Araby, the President of FEDCOC and UACCIAP, stated that the federation will participate in economic events held in China with a promotional mission. Additionally, it is scheduled to arrange bilateral meetings for the business community of the two countries to discuss bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Egypt, China and the countries of the continent. As for participation in the Arab-German Business Forum, El-Araby noted that the forum is a platform that brings together Arab and European business leaders, experts and economic decision-makers to discuss global trade challenges in light of successive political changes and economic crises since COVID-19 fallout, which had negative effects on the global trade movement. It was the first spark for a group of economic crises, which caused a decline in global trade by about 30%, and even the Russian-Ukrainian war and Western sanctions on the Russian economy, which created waves of widespread inflation in energy and food prices in various countries of the world.

Egyptian actress and TV presenter Sherine El Tahan passed away on Friday after a long struggle with cancer. The funeral will be held on Friday after noon prayers at the Fatma El Sharbatly Mosque in Fifth settlement. CAIRO – 7 April 2023: Preliminary information shows that three were killed including two Egyptians and 40 people were injured in a bus accident that took place in Saudi Arabia’s holy city of Mecca, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday. The bus carried 50 Egyptian passengers who were heading to perform the Umrah rituals when it crashed on Al-Jumum Road in Mecca, the ministry added in a statement. The members of the Egyptian Consulate in Jeddah headed to Mecca to provide the necessary consular support, check on the condition of the injured, and provide them with the necessary health care, the ministry said. The consulate continues to provide all assistance to the injured and their families throughout the day through an emergency operations room at the mission's headquarters, the statement added. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also extended its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, while committing to providing support to them and their families.

Authorities in the Giza governorate working alongside the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine and the Supply Investigations have arrested several smugglers who were transferring donkey meat for illegal trade. Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), said that the authority is taking rapid steps to implement the Cairo International Financial Center (CIFC) as soon as possible, explaining that the expected investments range between $2-3bn. Heiba told Daily News Egypt that the memorandum of understanding signed in March between the GAFI and the CIFC consortium regarding the establishment of the Cairo International Financial Center in the New Administrative Capital stipulated that implementation should begin within 12 months. He mentioned that the state primarily aims to achieve its economic goals and attract capital and direct investments through the centre. CIFC role will be to assist investment flows to and from Egypt, through all categories of financial products in and outside Egypt. Cairo International Financial Center’s main target will be to facilitate access to international finance and investments to finance entrepreneurial risks and develop capital markets, industries and infrastructure projects.
