Vietnam attends tourism fair in India

India is now the fourth biggest foreign tourism market of Da Nang city. The number of Indian tourists to the city accounts for 60% of total number of Indian tourists to Vietnam. Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines aims to achieve revenue of 40 million USD in the Indian market in 2024.

Indonesia updates regulations on green investment
- Indonesia launched a green investment rule book , categorising coal-fired power plant s used in nickel facilities as part of the global transition to a green economy on February 20.The new taxonomy was a revision to a 2022 document, defining what is considered a sustainable investment in support of Indonesia 's pledge to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060.It uses the traffic light system, under which sectors labelled "green" are interpreted as aligned with efforts to meet Indonesia's climate goals, "amber" for sectors supporting the transition to low carbon economy, and "red" for those that harm the environment.Under the new document, an investment in coal power plants -- off-grid systems developed and managed by industries for their use -- is labelled amber as long as it meets certain criteria.The captive plants must be built before 2031, be shut down before 2050, and commit to cut their green house gas emissions by 35% within 10 years since operation from 2021's average.The taxonomy also labelled green investments in early retirement of existing coal power plants, which Indonesia has been trying to do under a G7-led climate funding initiative known as the Just Energy Transition Partnership.Indonesia is currently the world's largest exporter of coal and nickel./.

Thailand keen on alternative energy

(Photo: bangkokpost.com)Bangkok (VNA) – More state-run energy firms in Thailand are eager to try alternative fuels to support the campaign against climate change, with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) becoming the latest agency, aiming to replace coal with wood pellets to fuel its power plant. He stressed that the biomass fuel will be certified using international standards to ensure it serves as a good alternative fuel. Egat's subsidiary Electricity Generating Plc (Egco) is also using hydrogen as an alternative fuel at its gas-fired Linden Cogen Unit 6 in the US. Green hydrogen, which can be used to fuel power generation and manufacturing processes, is produced by using electricity made from renewable energy to split water molecules into oxygen and hydrogen./.

He proposes that Mars has significantly more diverse volcanism than previously realised, driven by an early form of crust recycling called vertical tectonics. 'We have known for decades that Mars has volcanoes, but most of the recognised volcanoes correspond to large basaltic shield volcanoes similar to the ones that make up Hawaii,' he explains. ''This is a significant discovery because it has revealed that crustal recycling can occur not only in plate tectonic regimes dominated by horizontal movements, but can also occur in pre-plate tectonic regimes dominated by vertical movements.
