The Times reporter succinctly summed up the urgent challenge: "Is it possible to embrace complexity in a political and media culture that demands simple themes and promotes conflict?" As we enter the next chapter of complexity and conflict in Washington, we are pleased to announce that Dick will be our next bureau chief. Dick comes to the bureau chief's job after a nearly 40-year career at The Times, the last three as the Washington editor, working as a partner of outgoing bureau chief Elisabeth Bumiller. "Dick will be a superb bureau chief," Elisabeth said. Dick made the transition to editing, becoming the deputy Washington bureau chief in 2006, and served as political editor during the 2008 and 2012 elections.

President-elect Donald Trump said he was naming Fox News medical contributor Janette Nesheiwat as his surgeon general, elevating another personality from the conservative network to a top role in his incoming administration. Nesheiwat joins “Fox and Friends” weekend host Pete Hegseth , who Trump selected to run the Pentagon, Tulsi Gabbard , the former Fox News contributor chosen as national intelligence director, and Mike Huckabee , a former Fox News host as top administration officials with ties to the network. Marty Makary , the Johns Hopkins surgeon known for questioning medical orthodoxy, was picked to run the US Food and Drug Administration . , the conservative commentator who served briefly in Trump’s first administration before departing amid issues over his security clearance, was named as Senior Director for Counterterrorism.

However, scanners often have problems with black plastics because they don't reflect light. "People assume that black plastic can be recycled, but often it can't." But the demand for black plastics is incredibly large, so a company might want to use recycled plastics to keep up. Thus, any recycled black plastic contaminated with BFRs would simply carry those chemicals with it. At present, the best solution for parents worried about mouthing is keeping such objects, including black plastic toys, out of the reach of children.
