Dizasta Music YouTube/Harlem Shake - Baauer The original Harlem Shake meme video. AdvertisementHowever, there are some trends I look back on from the 2010′s that were just a bit... weird? Most of which were before things got really weird, so I’m not sure what our excuse is to be honest. PlankingThere was a period of time that we just... started planking on random parts of our hometowns and cities, then uploading the photos to social media. The meme started when YouTube comedian Filthy Frank took “Harlem Shake” by producer Baauer and played off a dubstep drop 15 seconds into the song.

The unions say in their lawsuit that Trump is retaliating against them for pushing back against the White House’s attack on the government workforce. The groups have filed a number of complaints and grievances that have slowed Trump’s effort to fire employees and shutter federal agencies. “Certain Federal unions have declared war on President Trump’s agenda,” an administration “fact sheet” stated. Support HuffPost Already contributed? AdvertisementAnother labor group, the National Treasury Employees Union, filed a separate lawsuit of its own earlier this week.

There is a longer explanation to what this means, so, please, do read on… if you want to, of course. The findings were that the twin who appeared younger was often more likely to live longer. Since looking younger starts from the inside out, not the outside in, lifestyle choices play a crucial role in this equation. For instance, healthier skin can reflect good cardiovascular health or lower levels of stress, both of which are linked to longevity. While looking younger can be a hint that you are on a healthier path, it is not a guarantee of a longer lifespan.

LOADING ERROR LOADINGDonald Trump’s new trade crackdown had one eyebrow-raising omission: Russia. The absence of Russia on the president’s new list of countries that he’ll hit with steep tariffs did not go unnoticed on social media. Critics were quick to accuse Trump of kowtowing to Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom Trump has for years expressed his admiration of. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Axios the reason for Russia’s exclusion was that economic sanctions imposed on the country following its 2022 invasion of Ukraine already “preclude any meaningful trade.”AdvertisementU.S.-Russia annual trade has been reduced to just $3.5 billion per year.

A Democratic lawmaker has introduced a long-shot bill to require special government employees, like Elon Musk and his DOGE cohort, to undergo regular drug testing. Rep. Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey accused Musk of a “well-documented history of drug use” (allegations that he denies) while announcing the Drug Testing for Special Government Employees Act on Tuesday. ADVERTISEMENT“Donald Trump has given billionaire Elon Musk the keys to our government, and with it, access to highly sensitive information — from Treasury and Social Security data to even our most guarded military plans,” Sherrill wrote in a press release. “Those with access to sensitive information must be thoroughly vetted, clear-eyed, and exercise good judgment.”

Trump, by invoking emergency powers, is going around Congress to impose the tariffs. He has created a base 10% tariff but is taxing imports from many countries more, based on how those countries tax American imports. The order Trump signed Wednesday says that it excludes products “compliant” with the trade agreement but did not offer definitions. Advertisement“We took in hundreds of billions of dollars from China in tariffs,” Trump said. Whether Trump understands how this works is unclear, even though his businesses often purchased both raw material and finished goods from other countries, including China.

Are y'all seeing what's happening with overnight markets? Futures are signaling a rude awakening for #WallStreet and your 401(k) in the morning. So much for all that juiced up BS about "the markets are getting certainty" on this "Liberation Day". The only certainty is Congress… pic.twitter.com/u0RHYvS5og

The decision by Judge Dale Ho rejected the Justice Department’s request to dismiss the case against Adams without prejudice. This would have allowed them to hang those charges over the mayor’s head in order to pressure him to do the administration’s bidding on immigration policies. Still, Ho lit into the administration’s immigration rationale as both false and tantamount to blackmail. While the charges have now been dismissed, Ho noted that the court did not rule on their merits. The combined force of the now-dismissed charges and his deal with the Trump administration have tainted his mayorship with corruption.

“It’s an extraordinary tax increase,” said Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a conservative economist with the American Action Forum and formerly the director of the Congressional Budget Office. White House officials declined on Tuesday to reveal exactly how large a tariff Trump would impose and on which countries, although his statements in recent days have suggested that it would be across the board. Advertisement“It would be the largest peacetime tax increase in history and the third largest overall tax increase behind only the 1941 and 1942 revenue acts to fund WWII,” said Erica York, the Tax Foundation’s vice president of federal tax policy. I Gave Birth To My Children In A Car And A Laundromat. When I Finally Made It To The Hospital, I Was Shocked By How I Was Treated. Maurice couldn’t attend doctor’s appointments with me, and at every visit, I felt the weight of being on my own. Amber was just 26 years old when she died at Montefiore Medical Center, the same Bronx hospital closest to me. This time, I planned for a hospital birth in White Plains, believing that heading north would be a safer bet than dealing with unpredictable city traffic heading south.

I can’t help but read the comments whenever the local news posts anything political on social media — especially when it’s related to public education. Although I’m in public higher education now, I was a public high school teacher for over a decade. Students talk a lot about what their teachers do and say — and they particularly love to focus on the bad stuff. Despite how all of this might sound, I am honestly not claiming that scores of conservative teachers are indoctrinating our students in the classroom. The bigger takeaway is that like in-person voter fraud, political indoctrination in public schools is incredibly rare.
