It not only allows presidential nominees to reach new audiences but also enables other influential figures to voice their opinions and endorse candidates. This week, several reports and videos circulated on social media, supposedly from the FBI, that were later confirmed as fake by the FBI. Not only have Russia and Iran made statements about the election, but several social media figures have also weighed in. Throughout the election, both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump had celebrities appear at their rallies. During the election, rapper Cardi B showed her support for Kamala Harris by appearing at one of her rallies.

Presented with a choice between electing the first black, female president on a promise of a sunnier future, and a racist, misogynist, twice-impeached convicted felon hawking hatred and retribution, they picked Mr Trump. In 2021, Mr Trump seemed briefly to have lost his own party. Many voters relish Mr Trump’s willingness to break the system, because they feel it is already broken for them. Mr Trump’s pledge to withdraw from climate accords and bolster fossil fuels would end all hope of keeping global heating to below 1.5C, experts believe. But the decision must be to recommit to defending democracy and all of those imperilled by Mr Trump’s return.

Today, my thoughts are with the people of Ukraine. It depends what Putin is prepared to give Trump and how well Zelensky (the 'master salesman') handles the President. If Trump concocts a plan and Putin refuses to go along with it, then all bets are off. That’s easy, especially with Ukraine tucked away. Trump is a simple man who will provide simple solutions like injecting bleach to cure Covid.

Trump is dangerous from the far-right, and we simply do not know what he is going to do. The Supreme Court, despite its domination by people appointed by Trump, won't let him do what he might want. It is to provide stability and services, and Trump wants to upset that. For example, are the forces around Trump going to try to retain power come what may? We have to have answers as to how government could work, not in the way that Trump wants, not in the way that Harris wanted, but in the way that people need it to work.

This is the audio version:This is the transcript:Is Labour spiteful? Yes, he had made a comment about Labour saying that its budget was spiteful. It was in the context of Labour imposing an inheritance tax charge on farmland. So, he thinks Labour is incredibly spiteful for having charged inheritance tax on his own personal situation. But I did raise a point where I did say Labour was spiteful.

The announcement from Willbanks provided another chapter to a scandal centering on a figure with ties to Trump’s two prior presidential runs. He later founded the Gateway church in 2000 in Southlake, Texas, and it grew into one of the largest institutions of its kind in the US, with more than 100,000 congregants. Willbanks also said Morris reacted to Clemishire’s going public about his abuse by instructing church staff to issue a statement minimizing her account. And, for the second of those campaigns, he took part in a roundtable discussion with the former president and faith leaders at Gateway. Another official to resign from Gateway church after Clemishire spoke out was Morris’s son, James, who in September launched a new church.

Rory McIlroy backed the US president-elect Donald Trump to mend the relationship between the PGA Tour and the Saudi Arabia funded breakaway, LIV circuit. McIlroy even floated the idea of Elon Musk, who he called 'the smartest man in the world', becoming involved in golf’s elongated merger plans. Trump has a keen interest in golf as well as business connections to Saudi Arabia and LIV Golf. He previously claimed he could align professional golf within 15 minutes.

This kind of straightforward durability is the appropriately mundane ground for the inaugural exhibition of Mariam Elnozahy’s first program as Konsthall C’s artistic director. It would have been easy to open a program along these thematic lines with something confrontational, but instead Elnozahy reproduced, inside the gallery, the meditation room from the UN headquarters in New York. The room was renovated in 1957 by the Swedish aristocrat and state economist turned unlikely international diplomat and UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld. Bo Beskow was the fourth son of Natanael Beskow, a leading Swedish theologian, radical pacifist, and spokesperson for women’s suffrage. The room is still used by ordinary people in the neighborhood seeking a place to pause and reflect in silence.

Protests in Serbia turned violent as thousands of government opposition backers rallied in the north-western city of Novi Sad after a deadly roof collapse at a local railway station. The protesters broke windows, spray-painted buildings and sprayed sewage over the city hall to express their anger towards the government, whom they blame for negligence and corruption. This page focuses on Florida’s death penalty. But—after last night’s election, which confirmed Donald Trump will serve a second term in the White House as the 47th President—I think it’s worth a post on the federal death penalty. The federal death penalty applies in every state for crimes prosecuted under federal law. Federal death row is housed at the United States Penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana, which is also where federal executions are carried out. At a rally in October, Trump called for the death penalty for all migrants who kill an American citizen or law enforcement officer.

A former Tottenham star has made a shock return to the sport after signing for seventh-tier Southern League Premier Central outfit Harborough Town. The midfielder joined Spurs from Brazilian side Internacional in 2010 for around £8million and played 106 times for the club. The following campaign, Tottenham reached the FA Cup semi-final. But the 35-year-old has now made a sensational comeback by joining seventh-tier Harborough, just in time for the club's FA Cup clash with League One Reading on Saturday. 'These sort of signings don't happen every day but when you get a chance to sign an ex-professional footballer who has played at the highest level in the Premier League and Internationally with Brazil, you just cannot turn it down.'
