Zuckerberg: I'll 'go to the mat and fight' Warren over plan to break up FacebookFacebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg has said his company will “go to the mat” if Elizabeth Warren is elected president and seeks to fulfil her promise to break up America’s tech giants. “I’m not afraid to hold big tech companies like Facebook, Google and Amazon accountable.”In July, Facebook was fined $5bn by the Federal Trade Commission for privacy violations in connection with the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Zuckerberg says “breaking up these companies, whether it’s Facebook or Google or Amazon, is not actually going to solve the issues”. Addressing election interference and voter manipulation, the heart of the Cambridge Analytica scandal, he adds: “You know, [breaking up big tech] doesn’t make election interference less likely. “I at least believe, I think, there are real issues,” Zuckerberg says.
