Guwahati, Feb. 19: Nagaland chief minister T.R. Zeliang stepped down this evening to allow the NPF Legislature Party to select a "new consensus" chief minister tomorrow morning. Zeliang made it clear to them that "I cannot decide by myself in Delhi and have to consult NPF legislators and the alliance partners. Zeliang became chief minister in 2014 replacing Rio after the latter got elected to the Lok Sabha in 2014. Zeliang's announcement came amid a briefing by Zeliang to NPF legislators, including the two MPs, at Zeliang's residential office from 4pm about his Delhi trip.
