This past Monday night, electronic musician Zedd hosted a benefit concert for the ACLU at L.A.’s Staples Center. “They are all friends of mine and that’s why I reached out to them,” Zedd told Monica Molinaro and I before the show as to how he invited the talent involved. Zedd echoed that sentiment Monday night, explaining Welcome was inspired by and named in opposition to Trump’s controversial travel ban. For him, the best outcome from Monday would be to see more musicians carry on the fight he began Monday night. But, of course, for many of the 18,000 in the audience it was the allure of a lineup of multi-platinum chart toppers that brought them out.
