Robertsons time is the fastest 10km in the world in 2016 and is the fourth fastest ever by a non-African. Abraham Kipyatich from Kenya was the 2016 world leader with a best of 27:40 set last month in Prague. The previous Oceania record holder at 27:54 was Australias Craig Mottram. Robertson finished 12th in the 10,000m track race at the Rio Olympics, in 27:33.67, lowering Dick Quaxs national track record by over 8 seconds. The race record for the Berlin race is 27:11, held by Kenyan Leonard Komon who also holds the world record at 26:44 set in 2010.
