KUALA LUMPUR (July 2): Oral submissions for former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s criminal breach of trust (CBT), corruption and money laundering trial is slated to resume on Aug 5, 2021 , according to his lawyer Hisyam Teh Poh Teik. Hisyam told theedgemarkets.com that High Court Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah yesterday set Aug 5, 6, 9, 11, 13 and 24 for the prosecution and defence to make their oral submissions. Once the submissions are complete, Justice Sequerah will announce the date of his decision on whether Zahid will need to enter his defence against the CBT, corruption and money laundering charges, according to Hisyam. In legal context, the Latin phrase prima facie indicates a situation where there is enough evidence for a trial to proceed. The 47 charges comprise 27 for money laundering, eight for corruption and 12 for CBT.
