A youth has been killed allegedly by rivals following a feud over gambling in Habiganj’s Ajmiriganj village. The incident took place early Friday during a fair organised on the occasion of local religious leader Abdul Latif’s annual Urs. They are Alim Uddin, 25, and Halim Uddin, 21. “A group of miscreants including Alim and Halim brutally stabbed Ibrahim over gambling issues,” Ajmiriganj police OC Ohidur Rahman PPM told the Dhaka Tribune in the morning. “Later, the locals whisked off Ibrahim to the Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital where doctors declared him dead,” the OC said.
