Youth job grant helps Marlborough kids learn about gardening, healthy snacks

MARLBOROUGH — The Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest is among more than 70 state organizations to receive a piece of $300,000 in youth job grants from Attorney General Maura Healey this year. The Healthy Summer Youth Jobs program, now in its seventh year, distributes funds to employ young people in programs that benefit their communities, such as urban farming and addressing food insecurity. She also said this is good work experience for the two young people they’re employing. The program also includes webinars and trainings for the young people hired with the help of the grant. Terzigni said they had the two councilors in mind when they received the grant this year.
