Adam Msalem, 10, leaps in the air in front of his friends while competing in a fun team running race. About 70 young Kiwis were treated to a day of games and excitement when Sport Canterbury hosted its top team challenge at Christchurch’s Ngā Puna Wai multi-sport centre on Monday. The top team challenge was delivered to 12,000 young people from 75 Canterbury schools in just four months in 2020. Ngā Puna Wai sports hub in Wigram is known for hockey and athletics, but is also helping to grow the ultimate frisbee and Australian rules football scenes in Christchurch. Sport Canterbury’s top team challenge is often held at Ngā Puna Wai if not at the workplace or school it is being delivered to.
