Adil Rashid has become the first established England player to give up red-ball cricket to focus exclusively on the limited-overs formats. In a move that has disappointed his county, Yorkshire, Rashid has decided to stop playing the longer form of the game, at least for this year, and has negotiated a white-ball-only contract with the county. His decision has sparked concerns that other players may also decide to give up first-class cricket to ply their trade in the limited-overs formats for England and in the various Twenty20 leagues around the globe.
