A status yellow wind warning has been issued for Cork and 10 other counties, with Met Éireann warning of strong and gusty winds on Sunday afternoon and evening. Forecasters say very windy conditions are expected, with strong to gusty southwest winds bringing the risk of wave overtopping, fallen trees and branches, and difficult travelling conditions. Sunday will remain cloudy with spells of rain and drizzle, although some drier breaks are expected during the morning. Looking ahead, Met Éireann says an unsettled Atlantic pattern will dominate the week, bringing spells of rain and blustery conditions, broken by occasional drier and brighter intervals. Wednesday will start dry with sunny spells before rain returns from the west later in the day.
