Yealands Estate whistleblower fails to reopen unfair dismissal case

A former wine company worker made redundant after reporting his co-workers for falsifying export records has failed to convince authorities to reopen his claim for unfair dismissal. The man, who cannot be named, was made redundant from Yealands Estate Wine Group shortly after he told the Ministry of Primary Industries about illegal activity at the company in 2015. Ricky Wilson/Stuff Yealands Estate founder Peter Yealands, centre, arrives at the Blenheim District Court in 2018. Stuff Yealands Estate is now owned by consumer-owned electricity lines company Marlborough Lines. Furthermore, the settlement contract overrode the rules allowing a contract to be cancelled, he said.
